MINISTER of Education Douglas Syakalima has revealed that 83 teachers were blacklisted for being in possession of forged grade 12 certificates in 2018. Syakalima says government has no plans to pardon the banned teachers because their punishment serves as a deterrent measure to would-be offenders. Speaking in the National Assembly, Syakalima said the teacher registration regulations provided for a person whose application had been rejected on the basis of fraudulent qualifications to reapply after serving a three year ban. “83 teachers were blacklisted for being in possession of forged grade 12 certificates countrywide in 2018.
