GOVERNANCE Activist Rueben Lifuka says the firing of Ministry of Finance officials by President Hakainde Hichilema raises speculation as to whether investigations by the Anti-Corruption Commission have been concluded. Lifuka says Ministry of Finance officers who have been accused of obtaining illegal allowances need to be given a chance to defend themselves in court. On Monday, President Hichilema fired Accountant General Kennedy Musonda and Controller of Internal Audit Chibwe Nerbet Mulonda in the Ministry of Finance and National Planning. The President also fired Ministry of Agriculture Permanent Secretary for Technical Services Green Mbozi and Ministry of Justice Permanent Secretary Administration Thandiwe Daka Oteng, replacing them with John Mulongoti and Ambassador Isabel Lemba, respectively.
