THE Director of Press and Media Development at the Ministry of Information and Media, Morden Mayembe, says his ministry did not anticipate that President Hakainde Hichilema would enact the Access to Information (ATI) Bill into law. Mayembe has revealed that the Ministry of Information only started preparing for implementation of the law after the President had assented to the bill. He says the ministry will ensure that a statutory instrument is issued by the Minister of Information and the law becomes operational by the end of June, 2024.
