GOVERNMENT has disclosed that plans are underway at the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to establish an energy facility at the Chunga dumpsite in Lusaka that will convert rubbish into energy. Local Government and Rural Development Permanent Secretary for Administration Dr Gabriel Pollen says Lusaka is generating 1,200 metric tonnes of waste on a daily basis but only has the capacity to collect around 400 metric tonnes.
