MPIKA PF MP Francis Kapyanga says the K40 million CDF increment per constituency in the 2026 national budget was just for show, as it was only done to boost government projects. Kapyanga’s comment follows the recent approval by Cabinet of the Presidential Constituency Energy Initiative, which is aimed at developing 2 MW solar farms in each of the 156 constituencies. Government said the project was designed to utilise the Constituency Development Fund in order to accelerate the deployment of solar energy across the country.
