ECZ Chief Electoral Officer Brown Kasaro says Speaker of the National Assembly Nelly Mutti has officially notified the commission of the vacancy in Chawama, and ECZ will therefore proceed with holding a by-election for the seat. On Friday, Speaker Mutti declared the Chawama seat vacant due to the absence of the member of parliament, Tasila Lungu. The Speaker indicated that she would inform ECZ of the vacancy.
