NORTHERN Province Minister Leonard Mbao says K1.1 million of the K2.1 million of the purchased by FRA has been paid to farmers in his province. Speaking during the end of year briefing, Wednesday, Mbao said FRA purchased over 323,799.30 MT against a target of 199,100 of maize in the province. “During the 2024/2025 farming season, Northern Province performed exceptionally well, owing to government’s support to farmers through the Sustainable Agriculture Financing Facility (SAFF) and Farmer Input Suport Programme (FISP), as evidenced by a bumper harvest in maize production.
