POLICE say they have recorded 224 road traffic accidents and 28 deaths during this year’s Christmas holiday. Zambia Police Spokesperson Godfrey Chilabi adds that 902 traffic offences were recorded with over K390,000 collected in fines. In a statement, Friday, Chilabi said Lusaka Province recorded the highest number of accidents with 80 cases, while Copperbelt Province recorded 46 cases. “The Zambia Police Service wishes to inform the public that between December 24, 2025, at 18:00 hours and December 26, 2025, at 06:00 hours, a total of 224 road traffic accidents were recorded countrywide.
