LOCAL contractors are increasingly becoming the face of development in rural districts, and in Kayuni of Ing’ombe Ward, Chirundu District, that change is taking visible shape in brick and mortar. A local contractor has welcomed the opportunity to construct two classroom blocks under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), describing the engagement as both a vote of confidence in local capacity and a boost to the community’s development efforts. At the construction site, technical supervisor Tyson Siampongo, who is building a 1×3 classroom block at Kayuni Primary School, said the structure is about 75 per cent complete, while another classroom block is still at foundation level. Once completed, the ongoing works will see Kayuni Primary School upgraded to a secondary school....
