HEALTH Minister Dr Elijah Muchima says as of January 15, Zambia recorded 639 cumulative cholera cases, with 614 recoveries and 10 deaths. Dr Muchima adds that the outbreak has been concentrated in Northern Province, particularly in Mpulungu, Nsama and Senga Hill districts, which together have recorded more than 501 cases, accounting for approximately 80 percent of all cases nationwide. Speaking during a press briefing, Friday, Dr Muchima said no cholera cases had been recorded in Luapula, Western or Eastern Provinces, where enhanced surveillance and preparedness measures are equally in place. “Since August 2025, Zambia has experienced cholera outbreaks affecting 17 districts across seven provinces.
