THE Livingstone Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit is set to utilise the 5 per cent allocation from the CDF to work on the damaged Maramba-Libuyu and Ngwenya bridges. Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development Charles Milupi along with his Tourism counterpart, Rodney Sikumba, heard this recently during a press briefing at Radisson Blu Mosi-oa-Tunya Resort. Livingstone District Commissioner Eunice Nawa told the two Ministers that a Bill of Quantities (BoQ) for the damaged bridges has been completed and the cost is estimated at K893,000. She said recent heavy rains washed away the bridges’ barriers.
