MATERO PF MP Miles Sampa has remained in custody at Lusaka Central Police Station after being detained on Tuesday. Sampa’s lawyer, Celestine Mukandila, says he has requested bond for his client, but the police have stated that they will advise on the matter later. Sampa was arrested for circulating false information alleging that a fake polling station had been opened along Ring Road in Lusaka on the day of the Chawama by-election. He has been charged with the offence of Transmission of Unsolicited or Deceptive Communication, contrary to Section 19 (1) (d) of the Cyber Crimes Act No. 4 of 2025.
