THE Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has clarified that voter registration will not be reopened, and there is no exercise underway or planned to register new voters before the 2026 General Election. This follows an incident in which Kitwe City Council Town Clerk Patrick Kambita issued a tender notice calling on bidders to submit motor vehicles for hire to be used during a “mass mobile voter registration exercise” under the ECZ.
