MBALA’S President Avenue is set to get a major facelift, thanks to the enhanced Constituency Development Fund (CDF). The major rehabilitation of the 2.5-kilometre project, valued at K8,783,798.68, will include the construction of a drainage system and sidewalks, and the installation of street lights. The President Avenue has a deep history that links back to Mbala’s colonial past as Abercorn, a key administrative centre, suggesting the avenue’s significance within Zambia’s oldest district. Speaking during the site handover earlier this month, CDF Committee Chairperson Grant Schaefer urged the contractor to ensure timely delivery and high-quality workmanship.
