NORTH-Western Province Minister Robert Lihefu has commended the Zambia Army for their professional conduct in removing illegal miners from Kikonge Gold Mine. Lihefu says no causalities have been recorded so far, and that the illegal miners are still leaving the mine. On Saturday, Zambia Army Commander, Lieutenant General Godfrey Zyeele disclosed that Kikonge Gold Mine in Mufumbwe District had been successfully cleared of all illegal miners. Lt Gen Zyeele said the joint exercise involving the Zambia Army, Zambia Air Force, Drug Enforcement Commission, Immigration Department, and other security agencies was incident-free, with no casualties recorded.
