ATTORNEY General Mulilo Kabesha says it is government’s wish that late former president Edgar Lungu is buried before the August 2026 general elections. Kabesha says government has been approaching the late former president’s family so that the matter can be settled out of court. Last month, the Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa granted Lungu’s family leave to appeal the ruling of the High Court (Gauteng Division), which had ordered the repatriation of his mortal remains for a state funeral and burial at Embassy Park.
