THE Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has arrested 12 suspects for the illegal cultivation and trafficking of cannabis. In a statement, Monday, DEC Deputy Public Relations Officer Theresa Mawere disclosed that officers in Central Province seized a total of 1,751.6 kilogrammes of fresh cannabis plants, 4.8 kilogrammes of cannabis seeds, and 90 grammes of loose cannabis. “The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has recorded a major milestone in its nationwide campaign against the illicit drug trade following an intelligence-driven, ongoing operation code-named ‘Kufeza’.
