FINANCE and National Planning Minister Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane says as at the end of September 2025, Zambia’s debt stood at $26.6 billion, broken down as approximately $10.6 billion for domestic debt and $16 billion for external debt. Dr Musokotwane has acknowledged that borrowing has continued under the UPND government, but he says it has been done prudently.
