MINISTER of Transport and Logistics Frank Tayali says government will not receive any portion of the annual revenue generated by TAZARA, following the signing of a concession agreement. Tayali however notes that China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), the concessionaire, will be paying TAZARA a fixed concession fee of $15 million per annum, irrespective of whether they meet or exceed their performance target. Last year, Zambia, Tanzania and China signed a 31-year concession agreement with CCECC to revitalise the TAZARA railway.
