KAZUNGULA UPND councillors have refused to accept the renaming of Katombola Constituency to Kalonga. Meanwhile, Kazungula residents under the influence of Chiefs Mukuni, Nyawa, Sekute, Musokotwane and Chieftainess Moomba have agreed to divide Katombola into two constituencies, one comprising 10 wards and the other six. The councillors repeatedly shouted “no” as the meeting moderator announced the resolution. “We have resolved that the new constituency be called Sichifulo and Katombola be called Kalonga. We have all heard the resolutions and we take it that it is a consensus,” the moderator said, as the councillors responded “no”.
