POLICE in Lusaka and Chisamba have arrested 23 suspected Bangladeshi illegal immigrants. In a statement, Wednesday, Police Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi said officers in Chisamba intercepted a grey Isuzu vehicle suspected of transporting illegal immigrants, and a search of the vehicle led to the arrest of 13 immigrants and two Zambian drivers. Chilabi added that officers in Kabanana Compound also apprehended 10 more suspected illegal immigrants, bringing the total arrests to 23. “The Zambia Police Service has apprehended 23 suspected illegal immigrants, believed to be Bangladeshi nationals, following a swift and coordinated intra-agency operation conducted by police in Chisamba District and Lusaka.
