THE Ministry of Tourism has warned Southern Province residents of a large breeding herd of over 100 elephants that have crossed from Zimbabwe. Last year, over 10 people lost their lives as a result of elephant attacks. In a statement, Southern Province Principal Public Relations Officer Wisdom Himanteka said the Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW) revealed that the elephants crossed into Zambia last week. “The Ministry of Tourism wishes to inform the general public that a large breeding herd of elephants, estimated to be over one hundred crossed into Zambia from Zimbabwe last week.
