DISTRICT Electoral Officers in Southern Province have submitted to the ECZ that an additional 15 new constituencies should be allocated to the province. Meanwhile, ECZ Chairperson Mwangala Zaloumis has assured stakeholders that the allocation of the 70 additional constituencies will be determined transparently, lawfully, and only after the completion of all stages of the consultative process and analysis. The Commission has commenced provincial sittings to receive district delimitation reports for each district, starting with Southern Province. During the submissions in Choma, Chikankata District, Electoral Officer Christopher Siasinyanga submitted that the district proposed the splitting of Chikankata Constituency into two, creating Chikankata North and Chikankata South.
