HOME Affairs and Internal Security Minister Jack Mwiimbu says the police have removed roadblocks that inconvenience motorists, not security checkpoints. Speaking to journalists after touring the Rusangu-Chikuni road rehabilitation project in Monze, Mwiimbu said the continuation of checkpoints was meant to enhance security across the country. “We have responded to the cries of the people that they don’t want roadblocks. Most of these roadblocks have been an inconvenience, but we have not removed roadblocks per se. What we have done, we have removed those impromptu roadblocks, we have allowed checkpoints to continue.
