MUFULIRA Municipal Council has handed over an ultrasound machine to Kamuchanga District Hospital, which was procured at K277,500 using the 2025 CDF allocation. The ultrasound machine will provide various services which include ECHO, antenatal care, prostate examination, and scans for internal organs such as the kidneys and heart, among other services. Speaking during the handover ceremony, Mufulira District Director Health Services Dr Able Hamoonga said the machine was a timely intervention, as the hospital previously operated with a faulty ultrasound machine with outdated software. And Mufulira District Commissioner Evaristo Chilumba commended the procurement, urging the hospital staff to safeguard the equipment.
