MWANDI Town Council has procured earth-moving machines at a cost of K6.5 million to improve the road network. In an interview, Abel Katembo, the council’s Public Relations Officer, said the grader and compactor were procured under the 2025 CDF allocation. “Road network has been a challenge, especially roads connecting Sikuzu and Matoya areas to the main road. The arrival of these earth-moving machines has made it easy to do the grading and compacting of the predominantly dusty roads,” Katembo said. He explained that under phase one of the road rehabilitation exercise, Sikuzu and Matoya have already been cleared and compacted.
