THE Bankers Association of Zambia (BAZ) says the banking sector is ready to support the 24-hour economy. In an interview, Thursday, BAZ Chief Executive Officer Leonard Mwanza said in 2025, bankers embarked on a pilot extension of the Electronic Fund Transfer, which ensured that banks were prepared to support a 24-hour economy. Mwanza noted that banks were already operating with extended hours, from 7:00 to 19:30 during weekdays and from 8:00 to 14:00 on weekends. “This is something that the banking sector is already prepared for.
