POLICE in Lusaka have revealed that a 35-year-old murder suspect identified as Allan Chibuye has died in a suspected suicide while in custody at Bauleni Police Post. According to police, Chibuye had been detained for allegedly murdering his cousin on March 8, 2026, in Matero. In a statement, Wednesday, Police Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi said officers on duty were alerted by other detainees that Chibuye was hanging in the cell. He said upon checking, they found him with a fabric strap around his neck, hanging from the cell’s toilet window burglar bar. “March 25, 2026 – The Zambia Police Service in Lusaka wishes to inform the public of a suspected suicide incident involving a 35-year-old murder suspect, Allan Chibuye....
