SECRETARY to the Treasury Felix Nkulukusa has revealed that the Drug Enforcement Commission has interrogated some Ministry of Finance officials over the $3.6 million erroneously paid to Nyiombo Investments Limited, a company that was later liquidated. Nkulukusa further says Ministry of Agriculture officials must be taken to task for expressing ignorance over the irregular payment. The latest Auditor General’s Report revealed that the Ministry of Agriculture erroneously paid funds to Nyiombo Investments Limited, a company that was later liquidated, resulting in a loss of $3,659,192.39 to the Treasury.
