NKEYEMA District last week conducted its first surgery following the construction and handover of a theatre funded by the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). The opening of the theatre was also supported by World Vision, which contributed medical equipment and two surgical wards. In a statement issued by Nkeyema Council Public Relations Officer Aphius Kaputula, it was stated that the surgical procedure took place at Zonal Clinic in Munkuye Ward. Kaputula stated that Director of Health Services, Dr Dimon Mundemba, who spoke after the surgical procedure, said the population in Nkeyema had doubled, leading to approximately 10 surgical referrals to Kaoma and beyond.
