FORMER Indeni board chairperson Yamfwa Mukanga says it was not a good decision to turn Indeni Energy Limited into an Oil Marketing Company (OMC), adding that government should have first examined how the company could return to profitability. Mukanga, a former Energy minister, has also warned that reverting the company to a refinery without conducting a feasibility study will be costly. Last Monday, Secretary to the Treasury Felix Nkulukusa said the transition of Indeni Energy Limited from an oil refinery into an OMC was regrettable.
