MINISTER of Health Dr Alex Katakwe says government will review the recruitment database in order to address anomalies in the system. Dr Katakwe says he is of the view that the recruitment process for health workers must be completely handled by the Ministry of Health. Government, through the Civile Service Commission, recently recruited 3,205 health workers from the 2023 database. However, various stakeholders have raised concern over the manner in which the recruitment process was conducted, with the Resident Doctors Association of Zambia (RDAZ) saying it has received information from its members that the database has been “weaponised as an instrument of corruption”.
