MINISTER of Home Affairs and Internal Security Jack Mwiimbu says the Zambia Police utilised the 2023 database in recruiting the recent 4,000 officers. Mwiimbu adds that the recruitment process may have been flawed but the outcome is the best in the history. Meanwhile, Mwiimbu has apologised for the omission not to inform the public on the recruitment. On Saturday Police Public Relations officer Godfrey Chilabi said the 4,000 latest recruitment exercise was meant to fill positions created by retirements, resignations and attrition, while also prioritising qualified civilian employees already working within the institution.
