UNIVERSITY of Zambia UNZA Vice-Chancellor Professor Boniface Namangala has announced that the institution will go on recess effective Friday, 17th April, 2026, to 22nd May, 2026. Prof Namangala adds that students scheduled for mid‑year examinations would only observe a study break from April 20 to 24, 2026. This follows the UNZA Student Union’s leadership call for an early recess, citing a water crisis that has left sanitation facilities broken and conditions unsafe.
