SOCIALIST Party president Dr Fred M’membe has wondered why candidates must pay nomination fees, arguing that one must actually be paid to become a leader. Commenting on the Electoral Commission of Zambia’s proposal to increase nomination fees for male presidential candidates from K95, 000 to K100,000, Dr M’membe said nomination fees were actually an anomaly. He added that paying huge nomination fees was similar to buying leadership. “Nomination fees are an anomaly in themselves.
