GOVERNMENT has announced that the South African High Court has formally transferred Edgar Lungu’s remains into its custody, following the family’s inability to proceed with their appeal. Attorney General Mulilo Kabesha SC says Lungu’s body has since been relocated to a facility managed by the South African government, adding that government will engage with the former president’s family to finalise burial arrangements. However, family representative Makebi Zulu claims that the Supreme Court has reversed this decision and ordered the government to return the body.
