STATE House has disowned remarks attributed to the outgoing Health Minister, insisting that any benefit accepted by a public officer in connection with a public contract amounts to corruption. During his farewell media briefing on Thursday, outgoing Health Minister Dr Alex Katakwe, while advising against corruption, told senior officials to “eat modestly”, adding that there was nothing wrong with someone thanking them for a job done, as this amounts to appreciation. “Senior managers, one thing you can do to yourself is to avoid the issues of getting into corruption.
