GOVERNMENT has disbursed K2.7 million under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Empowerment Grants Component, benefiting 123 beneficiaries in Mandevu Constituency. The move is aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, improving household incomes and creating employment opportunities. The beneficiaries comprise cooperatives, youth groups, women’s groups and community-based enterprises supported to venture into various income-generating activities. Speaking during the handover ceremony last week, immediate past Minister of Education Douglas Syakalima said government remains committed to empowering citizens through sustainable community development programmes under the enhanced CDF.
