POLICE have charged former intelligence chief director Xavier Chungu with seven counts of communication of certain information, three counts of seditious practices and one count of disclosure of information to an unauthorised person. Police Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi says it is alleged that on May 24, 2026, between 16:00 and 18:00 hours, in New Kasama, Lusaka, Chungu disclosed confidential information obtained through his official duties, uttered words of a seditious nature and disclosed protective measures relating to a vital installation.
