PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has warned that individuals who are sponsoring or perpetrating the vandalism of campaign materials should not cry persecution once they are caught. Meanwhile, the Zambia Police Service says offenders found guilty of vandalising campaign materials are liable to a fine of up to K80,000, two years’ imprisonment, or both. In a Facebook post, Thursday, President Hichilema said the destruction of campaign posters had no place in Zambia’s democracy and should be rejected by all well-meaning citizens.
