POLICE in Ndola have recovered 230 copper cathodes and arrested one suspect for the alleged theft of the consignment. The consignment which was being transported from the Democratic Republic of Congo was destined for Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Speaking to journalists at Kansenshi police on Friday, Copperbelt Province assistant Commissioner of police Dorothy Nyambe said the truck was carrying 560 pieces of copper cathodes, translating to 32 tonnes of copper valued at $438 934. “At around 08:30hours on 7th July, 2026, unknown criminals were spotted in the bush between fisenge and masangano area in Masaiti district stealing and transshipping plates of copper cathodes from a Tanzanian registered truck.
