FINANCIAL Intelligence Centre Director General Clement Kapalu has been appointed Regional Representative for East and Southern Africa for the Egmont Group. He was appointed during the 32nd Egmont Group Plenary, Working and Regional Group Meetings. The Egmont Group facilitates and prompts the exchange of information, knowledge, and cooperation amongst member Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs). The Egmont Group provides FIUs with a platform to securely exchange expertise and financial intelligence to combat money laundering, terrorist financing, and associated predicate crimes.
