THE Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) says women and youths should take advantage of the 20 parliamentary seats reserved for the new proportional representation (PR) electoral system. The Commission further says the constitutional reform presents an opportunity to increase women representation in decision making. Speaking during the Count Me In Women’s Conference in Ndola, Copperbelt Province Electoral Officer Shaft Musaka said women must move beyond being voters and actively participate as candidates, election observers and leaders in the country’s democratic processes.
