POLICE on the Copperbelt have launched investigations, after a consignment of Horse Mackerel Fish worth over K1.3 million went missing while in transit. Copperbelt Province Police Commissioner Rae Hamoonga says the consignment was being transported from Namibia to Kasumbalesa border in Chililabombwe, where the truck was later found abandoned with the driver nowhere to be found. In a statement, Thursday, Hamoonga said the driver, who is a Zimbabwean national, abandoned the track at a filling station, while the entire consignment of 1,335 boxes of fish was allegedly missing. “The Zambia police service has launched investigations into the theft of 1,335 boxes of Horse Mackerel Fish valued at US$75 525 equivalent to approximately K1,359,459 which allegedly went missing while in transit...
