THE Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) has summoned five broadcasting stations for compliance hearings over alleged “non-compliance” in the coverage of the August 13 general elections. IBA Director General Webster Malido says the Authority identified instances of non-compliance involving the broadcasting of unsubstantiated and unverified allegations, as well as hate speech and tribal content, among others. In a statement, Monday, Malido said the affected stations were called for compliance hearings scheduled on Wednesday at the IBA.
