ZCCM Investments Holdings Plc (ZCCM-IH) has announced that the 100-megawatt Maamba Solar Project has entered its commissioning phase, with electricity injected into the national grid for the first time on September 24, 2026. The project, valued at approximately US$90 million, has its output contracted to ZESCO Limited under a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement. According to ZCCM-IH, the facility is one of the largest utility-scale solar photovoltaic plants in Zambia.
