UPND candidate Adrian Banda yesterday successfully filed his nomination ahead of the Mandevu by-election, slated for November 5, 2026. However, Progressive Alliance Party candidate Chanda Chaikatisha could not file his nomination, after failing to present a certified copy of his Grade 12 results. A total of four candidates successfully filed their nominations. Banda arrived at Justin Kabwe Secondary School nomination centre in Mandevu around 09:20 hours, and was the first candidate to file his nomination. FDD candidate Daniel Chisenga, who arrived in the company of former PF secretary general Davies Mwila, also successfully filed his nomination under Tonse Alliance, shortly after 15:00 hours, close to two hours after arriving at the nomination centre.
