YESTERDAY we published pictures of some former senior officers in the defence and security wing posing for pictures with a businessman of questionable character called Mr Ali Yehia. The pictures we published are a product of a robust investigation into how the Patriotic Front government facilitated the smuggling of Mukula timber from Zambia which was exported to China with no tax paid. We are proud to state that our investigation actually found that there were other products that were being smuggled out of Zambia into the Congo market (and vice versa) with the help of senior defence and security officials, some of whom have already been arrested.
