ALTHOUGH the church does not accept homosexual tendencies, homosexuals are not criminals and they must therefore not be criminalised, says the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB). This is one controversial statement that has attracted mixed reactions from members of the public, including the Catholic faithful. Not surprisingly, homosexuality is one word that means more things than its definition. Depending on where you stand in the world, in your society, your community, in church, your family or workplace, your understanding, rejection or acceptance of it is expected to be different.
