THE Corruption Perception Index is out. Our conclusion is simple, there is an aggressive anti-corruption talk in Zambia, but not really an anti-corruption fight. In terms of corrupt actors and their activities, nothing much has changed. In terms of aggression from law enforcement agencies, there has been zero improvement. According to Transparency International, Zambia has maintained its score of 33 on the 2022 Corruption Perception Index for the third consecutive year, a development that goes against the political assurances from the UPND administration that it would improve in the corruption fight.
